Data Uncertainties

  • Absolute scores of the industrial parks can have some uncertainties arising from:

  1. Uncertainties in assessment weights used to perform scoring processes.

  2. Inaccuracies in data reported by individual parks as some metrics may be calculated by different parks using inconsistent methodologies.

  3. Many metrics are calculated based on country data rather than park data because park data were unavailable. These metrics for the parks can be different than average data for the country in some cases.

  • Despite uncertainties in assessment weighting and metrics, a consistent process was employed to perform our analysis and calculate park scores. The process as such yielded a meaningful ranking of the parks.

  • To minimize negative effects of uncertainties, is it recommended to analyze scores of the parks based on a quadrant or range, for example, a park could be within a range of 50th to 75th place rather than an exact ranked position.
